Foraging In Rockland

Rockland Forager was started by Paul Tappenden, to help inform and educate people about the native plants of Rockland County, and their practical uses in our lives.

Rockland Forager brings together people of various backgrounds and experiences to explore the edibility and medicinal properties of common plants throughout the county, which they do through regular gatherings and workshops.

Many of these plants are highly nutritious and can be used as part of a regular diet by anybody who cares to stop and pick them. Not only do they supply many of the daily nutrients, vitamins and minerals but some of them are delicious eaten raw. They are naturally organic and GMO free, and best of all, they don't cost a penny.

Paul and his co-instructor, Brooke Smokelin, will be running workshops throughout the year. If you are interested in learning more, contact RocklandForager@mac.com or visit their web site at www.rocklandforager.com
